Cuan na Gaillimhe - A Steiner Education
On the days children are not in the forest they spend the start of the day working and playing in the garden. Garden work with spades, rakes and hoes is not only excellent for developing motor skills, it also gives the children a sense of purpose: They learn that through working the soil, sowing, watering and caring for the seedling, they produce the food that they are going to eat.
Outdoor free play includes the sandpit, blocks and tree logs for obstacle courses and building projects, as well as stilts, hobbyhorses and other movement toys.
